INTENTION TO FLOAT
THREE QUANTITY SURVEYORS TARGET AUTUMN FLOTATION
Roger Knowles and Patrick Lineen have joined forces with 3
leading, construction consultancy practices to form Baqus, which
is seeking to float on the AIM market of the London Stock
Exchange (“AIM”)
Boxall Sayer, Denley King and Fletcher McNeill are merging their
operations under the umbrella of a holding company called Baqus,
which will float on AIM and raise funds for expansion,
especially by acquisition. Initially the three companies will
continue to operate under their existing trading names.
Boxall Sayer has offices in: Chichester, St. Albans, London and
Manchester. They have a team of 50 and are a broad based firm
with major commissions across the public sector and key private
sector clients. As well as quantity surveying they offer a range
of services including building surveying and project management.
Denley King has offices in: Poole, Winchester, Canterbury and
London and have 32 staff providing project management, quantity
surveying, building surveying and other specialist expertise to
the public housing, education, retail and commercial sectors.
Fletcher McNeill has offices in: Liverpool, Manchester,
Lichfield and Oxford and have 30 staff and specialise in work
for the leisure, hotel and brewing sectors.
Roger Knowles is to be the Chairman of the new company. He
commented:
“This is an exciting new development for the surveying
profession. The three firms complement each other well and this
is only the beginning. We are planning to raise funds from AIM
to acquire additional, like-minded practices. We are planning to
build a national firm which is fully able to compete with the
largest practices.
These three long-established, award-winning practices have built
their enviable reputations on the quality and personalised
nature of the services provided to their clients, which will
continue to be their ethos for the future, whilst enabling them
to benefit from a wider resource and knowledge base.”
Clive Sayer from Boxall Sayer, Graham Williams from Denley King
and Rob McNeill from Fletcher McNeill will sit on the PLC Board
alongside Roger Knowles and Patrick Lineen, the financial
director.
A team of advisers for the flotation has already been appointed
and the process is underway.
